Climate activist Greta Thunberg, 20, graduated high school on Friday (9) and announced an end to the school strikes she has led and organized since 2018.
Leaving the Swedish school does not mean the end of militancy in favor of the environment and against climate change, she promises in a series of publications made on her Twitter account.
“I graduated from high school today, which means I can no longer do school strikes for the weather. So this is my last one”, he wrote when posting a photo of his last protest at school.
Greta joined the military at age 15 when she started skipping school to protest alone in front of Sweden’s parliament. “After striking every day for three weeks, we were a small group of kids who decided to continue to strike every Friday. And we did and that’s how Fridays For Future was formed,” she described.

In publications, she recalls that the demonstrations triggered a trigger that made thousands of young people from all over the world follow in the footsteps of the Swedes.
The activist warned that she will continue protesting, even if she is no longer at school.
“We who can speak have a duty to do so. To change everything, we need everyone. I will continue to protest on Fridays, even though it is no longer technically a ‘school strike’. We simply have no option but to do everything we can. The fight has just begun,” said Greta.
