Grey’s Anatomy 19: Ellen Pompeo says goodbye to the series (but it’s not what it seems)

We knew Ellen Pompeo was leaving sooner or later Grey’s Anatomy, courageously untying the cord from a creature who has given her so much but who, according to many, now has nothing more to say, but… that day is not today. It is true that Pompeo is preparing to leave the series, but the truth is that this departure will only be temporary: we have known for some time, in fact, that Ellen Pompeo would appear in a limited number of episodes this season of Grey’s Anatomy to be able to devote himself to new projects, and so it was.

“I am eternally grateful and honored by the love and support you have shown me, Meredith Grey, and the show for 19 seasons,” Pompeo writes on his Instagram profile, adding that nothing would have been possible without the support of the fans, who he defined as «the best in the world», emphasizing how much his experience in them made Grey’s Anatomy fun and memorable. “I love you all madly and appreciate you as you did me. This isn’t your first time on this roller coaster… You know the series must go on and I will definitely be back for a few visits. With much love and immense gratitude, I love you.”

ABC, the network that has broadcast the series for nearly two decades, announced in August that Pompeo she would remain involved as a narrator of the nineteenth season of Grey’s Anatomy, acting, however, in only eight episodes. In fact, it is time for the actress to look around and be able to devote herself to something else even if, despite the complaints reported to the newspapers in the last decade, she has always decided to stay where she was, receiving millionaire salaries that, probably, she would not have collected elsewhere.
