The Brazilian Representation to the Palestinian Authority reported this Wednesday morning (06) that a group of 85 Brazilians and their families are in the south of the Gaza Strip awaiting authorization to leave the territory.
“We managed to concentrate 85 Brazilians and close family members in Rafah, removing them from the most intense theaters of operations in Khan Younes, Deir al Balah and the Nuseirat refugee camp, and placing them very close to the border crossing. We are just waiting for authorization for evacuation”, informed Brazilian ambassador Alessandro Candeas.
There are still Brazilians in other parts of Gaza in real estate. All remain monitored by the Brazilian Representation to the Palestinian Authority.
The Brazilian government sent a list of more than 100 names for repatriation to Israel and Egypt, countries responsible for authorizing the exit from Gaza through the Rafah crossing.
According to analyst Jussara Soares, the latest version of the list was sent last week, as continuing to receive documentation for new requests would delay the processing of repatriations.
