Group of paratroopers is surprised by strong wind in Manaus; there are missing

The Amazonas Military Fire Department (CBMAM) reported that it is still searching for two missing people since Friday afternoon (15), after parachuting and being carried away by the wind, near the Negro River, in Manaus.

According to CBMAM, 14 paratroopers were on an aircraft, 10 managed to land, but four had their landing route diverted.

Two men were located and rescued in neighborhoods on the west side of the capital. Two other people remain missing.

The Fire Department began the search around 3 pm on Friday, but the work had to be interrupted due to the lack of lighting.

Activities resumed at 6:30 am this Saturday (16).

CBMAM informs that it is working with a vessel on the Rio Negro, in the Ponta do Ismael area and the Rio Negro bridge. In addition, the rescue team is supported by an aircraft.

A crisis office was set up at the Integrated Command and Control Center (CICC) to manage the incident.
