The vice president of the European Central Bank (ECB), Luis de Guindos, said on Thursday that the new growth projections of the central bank are not expected to deviate from those of the European Commission, as reported by Reuters.
De Guindos pointed out that growth will be slower in 2021 than they initially projected.
Meanwhile, Andrea Enria, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the ECB, affirmed that the credit risk in the Eurozone is very high and that there will be a deterioration in the quality of the banks’ assets.
Market reaction
EUR / USD largely ignored those comments and was climbing on Thursday, trading above 1.1800, a one-week high.
