While specialized media and gaming journalists are trying not to violate the embargo on the Gotham Knights video game, which is due to be released on October 21, Reddit user almarhuby posted several gameplay videos shot on the PlayStation 5 at once. The fact is that he ordered a physical copy of the video game in local online store, which for some strange reason sent a box with a disc on October 16 – thanks to this, the user was able to play the much-awaited new product a week before the official release. And thanks to the fact that he not only played, but also filmed several important moments, the whole world learned about the gameplay of the project in advance.
For example, in the first video, the gamer showed a battle with a gang of enemies – the character deftly jumped onto the railing, after which he jumped right on the enemy’s head, instantly knocking him out. Further, the battle was more like films with Jackie Chan – the hero inflicts a couple of blows in hand-to-hand combat, after which he quickly dodges the opponent’s attacks, while the enemy participates in the battle, throwing Molotov cocktails from a long distance. The battle does not look very impressive, but it is immediately clear that the developers have focused on realism. But the enthusiast showed much more interesting things in the second video, where he travels for another main character through the streets of the night city.
It turned out that Gotham Knights boasts a huge city, literally overflowing with various secondary quests, activities and points of interest. At the same time, the city is illuminated by neon signs, there are effects of rain and thunder, so the game is clearly at night. In places, the game even looks a bit like Cyberpunk 2077, only without elements from science fiction. For example, the main character can safely ride along the road on his cool bike in search of the next quest, see in the alley how bandits rob someone, and save the poor fellow from the hands of armed people.
Fortunately, the gamer decided not to reveal the plot features of the video game – he said that he focused on secondary activities in order to get used to the combat system, and left the plot tasks for the future. This means that no one will spoil the fun for potential buyers of the game a week before the release, which is certainly correct. At the same time, the gamer said that sometimes on the PlayStation 5 he noticed that the frame rate fell below a comfortable value. This is likely due to the fact that the game didn’t receive the Day 1 patch.
