The Civil Police of ParanĂ¡ released at the end of the night of this Monday (18) a suspect of involvement in the attempted robbery of a value carrier in Guarapuava (PR).
The 25-year-old man was the first arrested in connection with the crime and testified for five hours on Monday. Despite the release, the suspect is prohibited from leaving Guarapuava and his cell phone was withheld for investigation.
According to the police, the man is from the city itself and is being investigated for participating in the logistical part of the criminals’ action, such as supplying weapons to the gang of about 30 people.
The Secretary of State for Public Security (Sesp) confirmed that the twelve vehicles used in the action have already been located. Four of them were burned and used as barriers.
In addition, nine weapons were seized between 50 BMG, 7.62, 5.56 and 12 Combat caliber, a Glock 9 mm pistol with burst selector, an AK 47 magazine; ammunition, helmets and ballistic vests, balaclavas, knives, cell phones and flashlights, a pair of spare license plates (EPS7D07) and R$1,400 in cash.
About 200 police officers were deployed to the location to help search for more suspects, in addition to three helicopters and teams with sniffer dogs.
