The court removed a tutelary counselor from the state capital after he was accused of offering $ 50 to a 17 -year -old teenager in exchange for sex.
The decision complied with a request from the São Paulo Public Prosecution Service (MPSP), which also filed a public civil action so that the man is dismissed from his mandate and prevented from participating in the next elections.
According to MPSP, the sexual act occurred at the headquarters of the Guardianship Council itself, after the counselor promises to help the girl with documents and social benefits.
He met the teenager in 2023 and would have taken advantage of her vulnerability situation. The messages were discovered by other tutelary counselors, after the young woman was expelled from home by her father.
The Civil Police have already completed the investigation and indicated the counselor by favoring prostitution or other form of sexual exploitation of vulnerable. The Public Prosecution Service also requested the victim’s special testimony.
In a statement, the Municipal Secretariat of Human Rights and Citizenship said the counselor was preventively suspended from his duties on March 5, 2025.
The measure is temporary until the findings are completed about the case.
