THE Guardian in an article he published, strongly disagrees with him Russian intelligence claims that the murderer her Daria Dukinaas he considers them unreliable.
As stated by theguardian.comthe data presented by Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) is “unreliable”, because the service says that they are constantly monitoring the alleged perpetrator, but they let her commit the crime and then leave the country.
He also notes that the FSB’s claims are met with scepticism while the Ukrainian side also denied any involvement in the attack against the car in which Dugina was riding. Even Kyiv notes that Dugin is a marginal figure and insists that he has nothing to do with the attack. At the same time, the Guardian emphasizes that it is impossible to imagine the motivation for such a mission from Kyiv.
The death of Dugin’s daughter comes at a time when major fighting continues between Ukrainians and Russians in Crimea. Operations such as a bold plan to lure a group of Russian mercenaries into Ukraine two years ago show that there are people in Ukrainian intelligence who have… big plans.
“Similar” cases
However, the speed with which the Russian intelligence service came up with “evidential” videos, as well as several rather puzzling aspects of its history, certainly raise many questions.
For an agency that has failed to solve many high-profile murders in Russia, including those of Putin critics, the speed of the FSB’s work in this case is as suspect as the lack of progress in other cases.
Meanwhile, other versions of the incident, which have seen the light of day, also appear unfounded. On Sunday, former Russian lawmaker Ilya Ponomarev, now living in exile in Kyiv, claimed that insurgents from a hitherto unknown group called the National Republican Army were behind the attack, adding an unexpected and intriguing dimension to the case. But Ponomarev provided no evidence, and many observers dismissed the claim as a publicity stunt.
