Immigration authorities in Guatemala received a flight on Friday morning with 79 deported Guatemalas from the United States, the country’s migration institute said.
In a statement, the institute reported that among the deported there are 31 women and 48 men, all adults.
They are being taken care of in shelters administered by the GuatemaCo government.
The Guatemala Migrant National Council for Attention, in a publication on social networks, said it provided personal hygiene, food, as well as legal, psychological and transportation to immigrants.
Speaking of Congress on Thursday (23), Foreign Minister Carlos Martínez said they expect more information next Monday (27) about how many flights and people will arrive, and assured that they asked for details from the government of USA to plan the receptions.
“We have no logistics, reception and service capacity,” said Martinez.
