Along the corridors of the Triennale, Gucci’s Spring-Summer 2025 collection unfolds between shaded rooms, from white to red againas if to evoke a summer sunset. A moment of pure joy of living. «A completed construction path», as Sabato De Sarno declared a year after his appointment as creative director. Piece by piece, look by look, today it seems that the sedimentation of such a precise and crystalline DNA it happened following the memory of a revelatory emotion. That flash of unexpected happiness that catches us in the most banal actions, to declare out loud that its greatness lies in simple things: Gucci doesn’t want the moon, just a moment. Unrepeatable. Eternal.

The inspiration
The collection is a tribute “to a precise moment in time, an instant to seize and live intensely. It is the sun that dips into the sea at the end of an August day. It is finding yourself”, as De Sarno explains. Therefore, an invitation to slow down the pace, to stop, if we want, to reconnect with ourselves and discover ourselves a little more.
The style
The title itself suggests it: casual grandeur. An oxymoron, cleverly translated into a casual and sophisticated wardrobe at the same timefor example that of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis on holiday in Capri, thanks to the tailoring essential that includes typically cuts mannish in dialogue with silhouette 60s style declined on shorts, triangle minidresses, balloon skirts, square necklines and imposing Bardot hats. The kilometre-long coats reinterpret the GG Monogram under a new lens winking at couture, while being designed for a dynamic life. To counterbalance the large amount of leather in the finish glossynow essential, is the bold delicacy of lace, arm in arm with the exquisite obsession of exposed lingerie. Thus, biker gloves, bright fringes, mirrored sequins, moccasins that become boots and scarves from other times (Flora, original version by Vittorio Accornero de Testa) outline a powerful, yet easy-to-wear identity.

The accessory that struck us
It is more than anything a material and a motif that punctuates the entire collection: the bamboo. Starting from the iconic 1947 bag, reinvented by Japanese artists and renewed in the details – leather, enamels, fake-bamboo handles in plexiglass (!) – for a project celebrating the 60th anniversary of the It-bag. Up to the gold jewels, which imitate its shape by wrapping themselves around wrists, arms, necks and clothes.

What we loved most
The sense of joy and lightness in wanting to simply live beautiful moments (in beautiful clothes), “look at the stars, dedicate yourself to yourself and make love” as the legendary Fiordaliso suggests at the end. A moment in which the models hint at dance steps, Vittoria Ceretti and Mona Tougaard hold hands, and De Sarno himself appears nothing short of radiant. But wanting to stay practical, a blow to the heart also from the moccasins that transform into boots.
The curiosity
At the roll call in front rowthe number one in the world ranking Jannik Sinner. With his invincible coppery tuft that stands out on the impeccable dark coordinated. But if we talk about personalities currently in the spotlight it is impossible not to mention the presence of Tony Effe, in a “moment” of pause from his poisonous dissing with Fedez.
