In case of a positive result of the experiment, in the summer the experience will be extended to all the company’s boutiques in North America. According to Gucci President and CEO Marco Bizzarri, the initiative will improve customer experience.

Gucci is always looking to embrace new technologies when they can provide an improved experience for our customers. Now that we can integrate cryptocurrencies into our payment system, this is a natural evolution for those clients who would like to have this option available to them.

It will be possible to pay for the purchase using a QR code, which will be sent to the client by e-mail.

Bitcoin, Ethereum, Wrapped Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, Shiba Inu, Dogecoin and five USD-pegged stablecoins (including the brand new USDD) will be available for payments.

In the event of a return of goods, the fashion house will refund the funds in the same cryptocurrency in which the purchase was made.

The parent company Kering, in collaboration with the creative agency Al Dente, has developed a game for the holding’s employees that teaches Web 3.0. Earlier on Discord, Gucci announced access to pre-order the collection for NFT owners from the SuperGucci and Gucci Grail series.

Cryptocurrency payments are also being tested by Off-White and Phillip Plein. In one of the stores of the latter in London, an NFT gallery will appear with the option of improving the token used by the client in Decentraland.
