Economy Minister Paulo Guedes again promised to cut payroll taxes. Defended by the minister since the beginning of the Bolsonaro government, the measure requires financial compensation, a counterpart that has made it difficult to discuss.
“Brazil generated more than 2 million jobs and that was before changing the charges, which will be reviewed later on. We have to remove the bomb of mass destruction of jobs, which are the labor charges”, he said during his participation in the opening of the 36th edition of the supermarket fair Apas Show this Monday (16).
In addition to highlighting the investments already contracted for the coming years, Guedes also signaled the creation of a national reconstruction fund for public sector investments in infrastructure.
“The president has already authorized it and we are in a program of a national reconstruction fund, a great Brazilian program due to our great incapacity in the public sector for investments”, he explained.
According to him, the fund would be fueled by the sale of assets and public power holdings in companies. The minister also reinforced the government’s commitment to improving social programs.
“We are going to continue our program, which is the path to prosperity. Now we have the basic income and we are going to improve our social programs, this ramp of social mobility”, she added.
