The universal rule, to always keep in mind, is to find the put which makes you feel more at ease, while still remaining elegant while respecting the dress code – more or less rigid, this depends on us – for attending a ceremony. Here are six ideas.

Sequins by day: mistake yesterday, cool today?

In the past, fashion etiquette included many style rules that had to be observed carefully so as not to slip on a banana peel. But today that there are no longer strict wardrobe rules, these previously unforgivable mistakes have even become trends. Ready to check them out?

A dress “with a knot”

The knot is the detail most loved by designers for the autumn season, and certainly the most interesting to liven up a dress. In short, an excellent solution for creating drapery, emphasizing the waistline, or even animating a side slit. Choose it like that of Prabal Gurungin the photo, in double color, and accessorize it with colorful details, such as a yellow sandal or a pair of orange earrings.

Flowered (but micro)

Floral, even in autumn, remains the perfect pattern for attending a wedding. But for this season the flowers become mini. Bouquets of daisies and wildflowers, like those on the dress of Alessandra Rich, in the photo, or even roses and poppies, on pastel backgrounds. Make them intriguing with an incisive accessory, such as a white shoe, or wear a contrasting blue or black blazer over them.

What if it was a suit (with broad shoulders) instead?

There are those who don’t feel completely comfortable wearing a dress to attend a ceremony. So the inspiration comes from the autumn fashion shows, thanks to a great revival of the eighties, that is the suit with the broad-shouldered jacket. They are imposing but elegant, especially when combined with soft trousers. Who opts for an outfit similar to that of Tod’sin the photo, will have to choose a single color, to be toned down with fluorescent accessories.

Lace, but colourful

A lace dress it is a great classic of the perfect wedding look. Yet we bet that, if you are a fan of this material, you will have all the shades of the pastel rainbow in your wardrobe. This season, focus instead on a bright color, such as lemon yellow Huishan Zhang, in the photo, a vitamin orange or an emerald green. You will show it off all autumn, and not just for important ceremonies.

Transparent (judiciously): why not?

Many times, when we are choosing a dress to go to a wedding, we limit ourselves to thinking of the classics, at least knee-length, well-tailored and without too many see-through sensual effects. But fans of transparencies, admiring the look below, signed Dries Van Noten, they will be able to change their minds. Because a dress can be elegant and sophisticated even if made more sensual by transparencies here and there. However, our advice is to combine it with a blazer, to harmonize the nude effect, and to complete the look with a pair of knee-high boots.

Red, but as long as…

Is called Cola Cherry the most trending red on social networks. It’s not too bright and tends towards burgundy, so it’s perfect for wearing to a wedding. We know what you’re thinking: they say that you shouldn’t wear a red dress at weddings because it attracts too much attention. But if you choose it, strictly cherry, in velvet, the texture of the fabric will almost muffle the color, making it tend towards chocolate under the light.
