Guilherme de Padua dies on the same date as the premiere of a novel by Glória Perez

The death of Guilherme de Pádua, last Sunday (6), occurred on the same date as the premiere of a soap opera by Glória Perez. The serial, called “Explode Coração”, premiered on Rede Globo on November 6, 1995, marked precisely the author’s return after the death of her daughter, Daniella Perez.

Daniella was murdered by Guilherme in 1992, in Rio de Janeiro, receiving 16 perforations. The crime shocked the country and gained new repercussion this year after the screening of the documentary “Pacto Brutal”, on the streaming service HBO Max.

At the time, Daniella and Pádua were romantic partners in the soap opera “De Corpo e Alma”, also written by Gloria Perez, giving life to the characters “Bira” and “Yasmin”.

Guilherme de Pádua confessed to the murder and had the participation of his wife at the time, Paula Thomaz. The actor’s sentence was 19 years and six months.

In 1999, he was released after serving a third of his sentence. Since 2017, he attended the Lagoinha Baptist Church, in Belo Horizonte. In August of this year, he posted a video on Twitter where he asked for forgiveness from Glória Perez and Raul Gazolla (Daniella’s boyfriend at the time of the murder).

Guilherme de Pádua died last Sunday of a heart attack at his home, in the Belo Horizonte region, at the age of 53.
