Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Pinocchio’ wins Best Animated Feature at the 2023 BAFTA Awards

Mexican director Guillermo del Toro continues to succeed with his animated film pinocchiobecause yesterday he took home a BAFTA award for his creation.

The film won in the category of Best Animated Film, in which it competed against Marcel the Shell with Shoes On, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish and Grid.

Pinocchio by Guillermo del Toro competed in the Best Film Music, Best Production Design and Best Animated Film categories, winning the latter and putting the name of Mexico on high.

Del Toro thanked all those who supported his work and reminded the world that animation is not just for children, because great and emotional stories can be told through it.

Thank you so much. I’d like to thank Netflix and the Academy for allowing us to participate in categories that we normally don’t. I would like to add that I am very grateful to the Baftas for allowing us to be here, because animation is not something for children. It is an art medium, for everyone.
