Two men were convicted yesterday, Thursday, in the evening in Malta for the supply of explosives used in the 2017 murder by journalist Dafni Caruana Galizia, who had shocked the country and international public opinion. Robert Agios, 41, and Jamie Vela, 42, were found guilty of complicity in the homicide of the 53 -year -old research journalist, for the supply of the military category of explosives who blasted her car near her home. Their sentence is expected to be announced at the beginning of next week. The prosecutors had requested, at the end of a trial that lasted six weeks, a life sentence.
