Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are undoubtedly one of the most talked about couples these days. Their fans and well-wishers have been looking forward to their dream wedding since the days they announced their wedding plans. However, with the ongoing pandemic, it’s no surprise that planning a wedding has become way more difficult than before.
During her interview with Ryan Seacrest, Stefani talked about how excited she was about the wedding, however she also said that due to the Coronavirus pandemic, she won’t be walking the aisle anytime soon.
When she was asked of whether she would prefer a small wedding or a big one, she went on to say that at this point she would just want her parents to be there. She further went on to say that the wedding would have to wait until it’s safe for them to have one.
“I would rather not have masks and that kind of thing”
“My parents wouldn’t come to Thanksgiving because they’re so scared so really would rather it not be a COVID situation. Like, I would rather not have masks and that kind of thing. Even when you cut it down to just family, it’s too many people for COVID so we’re sort of going to see what happens in the next few months”, she explained on Monday’s On Air With Ryan Seacrest
Stefani finds it “so funny” to say she’s “engaged.”
“It feels so weird. People have been saying it for so long, like five years, ‘Are you getting married? Are you engaged?’ And now we actually are and it feels like I’m in a cartoon or something,” she noted.
Shelton and Stefani broke the news of their engagement on 27th October, after keeping it to themselves for a while.
Shelton and Stefani, along with Stefani’s three children, had been staying at Shelton’s ranch since the pandemic broke out. Shelton also proposed to Stefani at the same place. According to People, Before Shelton proceeded, he asked Stefani’s children — Kingston, 14, Zuma, 12, and Apollo, 6 — permission to propose their mother.
Both singers got close to each other on The Voice and have been together since the past five years. At the time they met, both of them were going through a difficult time dealing with high –profile divorces. This will be Shelton’s third marriage and Stefani’s second.
