From the glamor of Hollywood to the courtroom last week Gwyneth Paltrow was found. 76-year-old retired doctor Terry Sanderson filed a lawsuit accusing her that in 2016 in Utah, in one of the most luxurious ski resorts in the United States, she went down, without paying attention, from a slope in the ski resort, Deer Valley, resulting in a collision.
According to the complaint “She threw him down with force and caused him brain damage, concussion, four broken ribs and other serious injuries. She then left him in the snow and continued her descent down the mountain».
She denies what has happened. “I was skiing and two boots came between my legs, separating my legs, a body was pressing on me and there was a strange moaning sound,” Paltrow described. “My brain was trying to figure out what was going on. I thought ‘is this a prank? Someone is trying to do something perverted; This is really, really weird,’” the actress said last week in the courtroom.
Paltrow’s lawyers say Sanderson wants to take advantage of her wealth and fame. “I really feel sorry for him. I feel like she’s had a hard life,” Paltrow said inside the courtroom, according to the Guardian.
“His health deteriorated”
Sanderson’s legal team said the collision ruined his life. “After the accident, his health deteriorated rapidly. And many of the activities he used to do, he stopped doing them,” witness Dr. Wendell Gibby. “The rib fractures definitely confirm that there was enough force to cause a head injury,” he added.
But Paltrow’s lawyers say the crash was Sanderson’s fault because he was higher up the slope – Utah law gives priority to the shorter skier – and he later said he was fine. They characterized his claims as “absolute rubbish”.
