Gypsy Rose Blanchard, who inspired the series “The Act”, is pregnant

Gypsy Rose Blanchard who served more than seven years in prison for helping to kill his own mother, announced on Tuesday (9) that he is pregnant . Blanchard shared the news on social media that she and her ex-fiancé, Ken Urker are expecting their first child.

“We are both so excited,” she said in a YouTube video. “This was not planned at all. It was completely unexpected, but we are both so excited to embark on this new journey of parenthood.”

Blanchard said her life has changed now that she is expecting and that she no longer cares about “drama.”

“Suddenly, it’s not about you anymore,” she said. “It’s not about anything other than the little life that’s inside you that you’re now responsible for protecting.”

“And that little life is a baby, a little human that is yours,” she added emotionally. “That you need to make sure you protect, love, care for, and all the things I wish I had when I was little.”

Blanchard spent his childhood and early adulthood believing he suffered from a number of medical illnesses, including leukemia, muscular dystrophy and asthma, when in reality he was a victim of Munchausen syndrome a rare syndrome in which a caregiver fakes or exaggerates someone’s illness to gain attention or sympathy.

The young girl became an object of media fascination after her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard was found stabbed to death in 2015 in her home near Springfield, Missouri.

An investigation uncovered not only the mother’s role in her daughter’s childhood feigned illnesses, but also the fact that Gypsy convinced her then-boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, to kill her mother while she slept as a way to escape the abuse.

Gypsy Rose Blanchard pleaded guilty to second-degree intentional homicide in 2016. Prosecutors eventually sentenced her to 10 years in a plea deal due to the unique circumstances.

She was released in December 2023 and told CNN soon after: “For me, coming to prison was a chance to start a life for myself in terms of gaining independence from everyone.”

Media attention has continued since her release. She and Urker met and became engaged while she was in prison, but they split in 2022. Shortly after their split, Blanchard married Louisiana teacher Ryan Anderson in a prison wedding ceremony in July 2022, before they split in March 2024.

She and Urker have since rekindled their romance. Blanchard said they are looking forward to welcoming their baby in January.
