Hackers hacked Crash Bandicoot 4 and fixed the main problem of the game on PC

A few days ago, on March 26, Activision released the Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time platformer on PC in its Battle.net branded store – the game is not sold on other platforms of this platform. Soon, gamers discovered that the new product requires an Internet connection, without which it will not work to play. The news disappointed fans, because the release is a single player game in which even the co-op mode is implemented exclusively locally. Of course, most gamers these days have access to the internet, but this is still a rather strange decision on the part of the publisher.

And yesterday, March 28, a hacker under the nickname Empress sent a hacked version of Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time to torrents, ridding the project of built-in DRM protection. The enthusiast, of course, does not specify exactly how she managed to bypass the protection against hacking (a crack is supplied in the game folder), but, most surprisingly, this pirated version works without an Internet connection. Probably, the requirement to stay online is implemented precisely in the DRM mechanism, which in real time or at startup checked the game client for the authenticity of the files. By removing this mechanism, the hacker allowed fans to play on their PC without having to connect to the Internet.

Of course, this news most disappointed those gamers who bought the licensed version of Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time and, in fact, received a lower quality product than those who download the game from pirated resources. Indeed, in the first case, without an Internet connection, you will not be able to play with all the desire, although the game was purchased from Battle.net. On the other hand, you need to understand that a gamer can download and install games from pirate resources and torrent trackers solely at his own peril and risk, because no one knows for certain what actions the crack performs for this game.
