Blockchain security and analytics platform CertiK Alert revealed that hackers have announced the launch of a fake ORB token and a giveaway event that will distribute 5,000,000 ORB tokens to members of the Orbiter Finance community.
A little later, the Orbiter Finance team confirmed the hack and urged community members to refrain from clicking on the links posted on her Discord channel until further notice.
Attention community!!!
Orbiter Finance’s Discord was hacked, we are trying our best to slove it, please don’t trust anything in the discord server. Don’t click on any links!!!— Orbiter Finance (@Orbiter_Finance) June 1, 2023
In the comments, Orbiter Finance representatives clarified that they are trying to regain control of their Discord server. Meanwhile, the first users of the platform have already reported loss
crypto assets as a result of clicking on fake links.
The ScamSniffer platform published a report that in March alone, users lost more than $4 million by falling victim to cryptocurrency phishing sites. Attackers use the Google Ads contextual advertising service and masquerade as decentralized protocols or crypto companies like Zapper.fi, Lido, Stargate, DefiLlama, Orbiter Finance and Radiant.
