The future Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad, invited to the meeting, in Brasília, the former CEO of Fator bank, Gabriel Galípolo, a name close to the PT, who may occupy the executive secretary of the ministry.
The two were together in recent conversations in São Paulo and Brasília on Monday (12) and met with the current Minister of Economy, Paulo Guedes.
Galípolo is also quoted by the BNDES, but recently the name of Aloizio Mercadante gained strength and has been taken for granted by PT members close to the president.
According to Haddad himself, this Tuesday (13th), up to three names may be nominated for the Secretariat of the Treasury. The minister’s advisory convened a press conference at the headquarters of the Transitional government, at 6:30 pm.
Other names suggested to be in the economic area of the government are: former minister Nelson Barbosa and economists Guilherme Melo, Bernard Appy and Marco Bonomo.
Regarding the nomination for Planning, according to PT sources, the strongest name is that of Esther Duek. Fernando Haddad admits that he made some ‘considerations’ to Lula, although the final decision rests with the president-elect.
The former mayor declined to comment on the possible appointment of Aloizio Mercadante to the BNDES.
