Halle Bailey reports postpartum depression: “It’s hard to feel normal in my body”

Halle Bailey known for her role in the live-action “Little Mermaid” revealed a diagnosis of postpartum depression through her Snapchat profile.

After keeping her pregnancy a secret, the 24-year-old actress announced the birth of Halo her first child with the rapper DDG 26, on January 6 this year.

In a recent outburst, Halle detailed the feeling that has afflicted her since the little one's arrival. “I have severe, very severe postpartum depression, and I don’t know if any woman who has just become a mother will identify.”

“It's been so bad that it's hard for me to separate myself from my baby for more than 30 minutes before I start to kind of freak out. Even if you admire certain people, think they are celebrities and seem to have everything under control, you never know what they are going through,” he added.

Despite the feeling, Halle Bailey made a point of highlighting her love for Halo . “My son is a miracle. He is perfect. He's beautiful. When I look at him, I cry because he is so special. The only thing that It has been difficult For me it is feel normal in my own body ”, he explained.

“I feel like a completely different person. When I look in the mirror, I feel like I'm in a completely new body. Like I don’t know who I am,” she further detailed.

According to the actress, before her pregnancy, she didn't pay much attention to people who talked about the subject. “I didn’t realize how serious it was. Now, going through this, it feels like you are swimming in this ocean where you are facing the biggest waves that have ever existed and you are trying not to drown. I’m trying to get back to the surface to breathe.”

In the video shared by Halle, she once again emphasizes that her son is not to blame and associates the feeling with the constant bad comments she receives on social media.

“It’s all about me and who I am now. I think it was only today that I woke up to this — especially because social media is not a good place to be when you have postpartum depression. It was triggering to read some of the things that were said about me and my family about those I love.”
