The Palestinian group Hamas today accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of “obstructing” a Gaza truce deal after the latest round of negotiations concluded on Friday in Doha, Qatar. “We hold Benjamin Netanyahu fully responsible for the failure of the mediators’ efforts because he blocked an agreement and (we hold him responsible) for the lives of the hostages, who are in the same danger as our own people” as shelling continues in the Palestinian enclave , Hamas said in a statement. The US on Friday presented a new compromise proposal, following two days of talks by Qatari, American and Egyptian mediators with the Israeli delegation in Doha.
