The Palestinian group Hamas and Fatah, the party of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, have agreed to form a committee responsible for governing the Gaza Strip after the end of the war, AFP reported after talks between the two sides. After negotiations held in Cairo under the auspices of the Egyptian authorities, the two Palestinian factions approved a draft agreement that Abbas is to ratify by presidential decree, according to a member of the Hamas delegation and a member of the Fatah delegation. According to the draft, seen by AFP, the commission to be formed will consist of 10 or 15 members who will not belong to either faction. This committee will be responsible for managing all affairs of the Palestinian enclave: humanitarian aid, education, health, the economy and the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.
