The Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas today condemned the coordinated bomb blast targeting Lebanon’s Hezbollah militant group, calling it “terrorist Zionist aggression” in the region, referring to Israel. “We strongly condemn the Zionist terrorist aggression that targeted Lebanese civilians by blowing up communication devices in different areas of Lebanese territory,” Hamas said in a statement, adding that the attack made no distinction “between resistance fighters and civilians.” Nine people were killed and nearly 2,800 were injured, according to Lebanese authorities. The US side knew nothing State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said at a regular press briefing that the US was not involved in the incident, did not know who was responsible and was not aware in advance.
