Thirteen people were arrested Wednesday as suspected of involvement in the murder of two Mexican mayor Clara Brugada, which occurred three months ago. Jimena Gusman and Jose Munios, Brougada’s advisers, were murdered day by day, on May 20, on a avenue in the southern suburbs of Mexico. Without referring to the motives of the crime, the mayor announced to reporters that there are “three people who participated directly (…) and others who dealt with material preparation” of the attack. The arrests were made at dawn, as part of a joint operation of local authorities, the federal police and the army. After the double homicide, authorities had stated that it was a “well -designed attack” and that the perpetrators were “experienced” performers.
