A Hapvida announced that its subsidiary Ultra Som Serviços Médicos has signed a purchase agreement for at least 73% of Hospital Octaviano Neves, located in Belo Horizonte (MG).
The operation may reach 100% of the company’s capital, with a value of R$ 134 million, which includes the hospital property and the parking and clinic attached to the unit.
The hospital was founded in 1964 and, according to Hapvida, offers care in a region
privileged in Belo Horizonte, with a complete medical care structure, including maternity, emergency care, clinical analysis laboratory, diagnostic imaging service, outpatient care for various specialties and a surgical center.
The hospital, with 7,900 m² of built-up area, has 156 operational beds, including 45 ICU beds, 30 of which for neonatal ICU and 15 for adult ICU.
The operator recalls that the health region that encompasses the greater Belo Horizonte has a population of over 6 million inhabitants and about 2 million beneficiaries of private health plans.
“The transaction is synergistic from an operational point of view, since Hapvida currently has around 320,000 beneficiaries in health plans in the region,” says the company in a material fact.
Hapvida will assume the amount of up to R$16 million of net debt calculated on the base date of purchase, which can still be adjusted. The operation does not provide for withdrawal rights.
