Hard Ankara announcement: “Maximalist claims” from Greece and Cyprus in the EU

Turkey accuses Greece and Cyprus of violating international law and undermining peace and stability in the region because of their “maximalist claims” they attempted to impose on the European Union at the Summit in Brussels. Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman Ontzu Ketselli commented on a question about the results of the Synod and the support given to Greece for the Turkolibyy Memorandum. For this memorandum, the Turkish Foreign Minister points out that it is “fully in line with international law” and calls on the EU “to invite all its members to comply with international law instead of adopting allegations that have no legal effect”.
