Mr. Hardalias pointed out that the armed forces are close to the citizens and in cases of natural disasters, stating that “all our formations are ready to respond to the call of civil protection, and on the side of the regions.”
The Undersecretary thanked and congratulated the personnel of the Armed Forces who staff the vaccination center in Patras and stressed that “more and more of our fellow citizens now trust the scientific community and the vaccination program is progressing very well.”
Mr. Hardalias earlier visited the air bases of Andravida and Araxos.

The funeral procession of the hero Reserve Antipaspistis (Infantry) Charalambos Karagounis, which was performed at the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin, in his hometown, Ancient Olympia, was attended today, Sunday, December 12, by the Undersecretary of National Defense Nikos.
Reservist Charalambos Karagounis fell fighting for his faith and homeland in 1974, during the Turkish invasion of Cyprus.
The transfer and official reception ceremony of his remains took place this year on November 25 at the Dhekelia air base, after the completion of the search and identification process, within the framework of the exhumation program of the Commission of Inquiry (CMP) and the corresponding program of the Republic of Cyprus.
In the funeral procession of the hero Charalambos Karagounis, which was performed by His Eminence the Metropolitan of Ilia and Olenis Germanou, as a sign of honor and support to his family, Ilia MP Michalis Katrinis, the Mayor of Olympia Of Greece Dimitris Nikolakopoulos, the commander of the Center Administration (DIKE – IV MP “Peloponnisos”) Lieutenant General Leonidas Giovanis, as well as delegations of officers of the Armed Forces and the Security Forces.
