HarmonyOS 3rd Generation Launch Timeline Revealed

A few years ago, the Chinese company Huawei started to create its own operating system. And the sanctions imposed on it by the American authorities not only did not place Huawei, but, on the contrary, accelerated the development of the software platform. Last year, Huawei officially launched HarmonyOS, known in China as HongMeng OS, and is now preparing the third generation of the OS.

Back in October 2021, at its conference, Huawei announced the HarmonyOS 3.0 Developer Preview for developers. Then she promised that the final public assembly will be released in 2022. And now, thanks to Chinese insiders, the exact timing of the launch of HarmonyOS 3.0 has become known. The distribution of the new version of Huawei’s proprietary operating system will begin in July. And its official premiere will take place a little earlier, most likely at the end of the second quarter, that is, by June. And the company promised to release the first full-fledged beta version of HarmonyOS 3.0 in the first quarter, that is, by March.

It’s worth recalling that HarmonyOS is an open source, versatile, cross-platform operating system for a wide range of devices, from smartphones and tablets to consumer electronics and IoT devices. While the proprietary Huawei platform is available only in China. Its global launch is expected in 2022.
