Harrison Ford, actor known for his iconic roles in the films Indiana Jones and Star Wars, declared his support for Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz in the 2024 United States presidential election in a series of videos posted this Saturday (2).
“I’m Harrison Ford — I have a vote — just like everyone else, and I’m going to use it to move forward. I will vote for Kamala Harris,” he said.
Ford’s support follows a host of music and Hollywood stars, ranging from Beyoncé and Taylor Swift to George Clooney and Leonardo DiCaprio. The actor does not normally support political candidates, but declared his vote for Joe Biden in 2020.
In one of three videos posted in conjunction with the Kamala-Walz campaign, Ford said the warnings about Donald Trump provide evidence to prevent the former president from returning to the White House
“When dozens of former members of the Trump administration are sounding alarms, saying, ‘for God’s sake, don’t do this again,’ you have to pay attention,” Ford said.
“They are telling us something important. These are not soft people. They are governors, generals, standing up against the leader of the party they spent their lives defending”, he concluded.
Another Star Wars star who has been campaigning for Kamala Harris is Mark Hamill, who played Luke Skywalker in the saga.
