Harry and Meghan Markle, the first major project of the Archewell foundation

After a first period of acclimatization, it seems that the principe Harry e Meghan Markle have engaged the right gear. The two, who at the beginning of the year “discharged»By senior members of the Royal family and started a new life in the United States in complete autonomy, they have signed in recent months millionaire contracts for two collaborations with leading companies, namely Netflix e Spotify.

But that’s not all: the Sussexes, in fact, announced a few hours ago the first major project of their new charity, the Archewell foundation. According to the official statement, in fact, the duke and the duchess will take the field alongside World Central Kitchen, an NGO set up by the Spanish chef Jose Andres, that provides hot meals to the populations of areas affected by natural disasters.

According to Mirror, Harry e Meghan will contribute economically to the construction of four Community Relief Centres, i.e. buildings that will function as emergency kitchens but which can be converted back into schools, clinics and community centers. The first two will be made in Caribbean islands – Dominica e Puerto Rico – devastated by hurricane of 2017 and still today in critical conditions.

«When we think of chef Andrés and his amazing team, we remember that also during this year full of difficulties unimaginable (due to the coronavirus, ed), there have been many extraordinary people which they have worked constantly to support community more unfortunate, ”Harry and Meghan write in the statement. «World Central Kitchen inspires us, turning compassion into action».
