It seems like a century has passed even though it’s only been six years. It’s been six years in which the family laceration of the English royals has become increasingly deeper and the lack of invitation to spend the Christmas at Sandringham For Harry and Meghan it is only the latest sign. AND People to confirm that this year too the Dukes of Sussex will not join the royal family for Christmas in the estate loved by Queen Elizabeth.
The couple is expected to vacation in the United States as they have done from 2019 onwards. The last time at Sandringham with the royal family dates back to 2018, the year they got married. A few months later their firstborn Archie would be born.
It is not the first missed invitation for Harry and Meghan. In June this year there was no place for them at the traditional Trooping the Color parade, the annual celebration of the sovereign’s birthday. There is also a non-match to count in this 2024. Harry and his father did not see each other when the Duke of Sussex was in the UK for the 10th anniversary celebration of the Invictus Games. The last meeting dates back to February, at the time of the announcement of the king’s illness. Since then, sources close to Harry say, his calls to his father have gone unanswered. It seems that King Charles doesn’t want to argue the issue of safety paid by the British state for Harry and instead his second son has this as a priority for his family who will therefore remain in Montecito, California.
Tension remains evident between the Duke of Sussex, his father and his older brother, William. The Prince of Wales is expected to be at the celebrations with his wife Kate Middleton and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. In recent days the official appointments are resuming after the long interruption due to the princess’s illness. Kate is expected at the official visit of the Emir of Qatar and at the Christmas concert of which she has already been the protagonist in the past.
