Harry and Meghan, ping pong challenge for the Invictus Games 2023

Harry and Meghan face off in a friendly game of ping pong in a new promotional video from the Invictus Games 2023. The black and white short film was released yesterday on official social media ahead of the annual tournament for wounded veterans and active military personnel, which will be held in Dusseldorf from 9 to 16 September 2023.

The commercial begins with the athletes entering an empty stadium and approaching a ping pong table. Prince Harry is quickly revealed to be their opponent and is seen smiling before nodding his head in response to an impressive jab. At the end of the clip, a hand with a diamond ring is seen stroking a racket, then the camera reveals that it belongs to wife Meghan, who appears ready to compete against her husband.

There caption of the video reads: «Are you ready? The incredible #InvictusGames experience is getting closer and closer. Be a part of it to experience the power of sport in healing in Dusseldorf from 9 to 16 September 2023. Tickets for the opening and closing ceremonies are now available.”

The Invictus Games are an international multi-sport event organized for i wounded and sick soldiers, including those on active duty and veterans. Harry, who served in the British Army for 10 years, founded the event in 2014.

The Invictus Games play a big part in the relationship between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex – they’ve made their own public debut as a couple to Invictus Games 2017 in TorontoCanada, and attended the 2018 Invictus Games in Sydney during the state visit, which took place at the same time the Duchess announced she was pregnant with their first child.

In April, Meghan Markle praised her husband during the opening ceremony of the 2022 Games: “It is a great honor for me to introduce a person who I think you will all be very excited to hear from,” she told the crowd in the Netherlands. “I couldn’t love and respect him more and I know you all feel the same way. He is the founder of the Invictus Games and the father of our two little ones, Archie And Lili».
