Harry Potter, here’s the trailer for the reunion (and JK Rowling is there!)

Could the boy wizard’s mom skip her birthday party? Of course not, that’s why JK Rowling will attend as the guest of honor all’evento Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: return to Hogwarts, highly anticipated reunion with the cast aired on Sky and NOW on January 1st. The platform starts the year 2022 with a themed channel, Sky Cinema Harry Potter (on stage until January 16 with the marathon of films, which are already available on Amazon Prime Video).

The appointment is part of the celebrations for the two decades since the film’s arrival in theaters The philosopher’s Stone (# 20YearsOfMovieMagic). And, surprisingly, in addition to the cast there will be the four directors of the eight films: Chris Columbus, Alfonso Cuarón, Mike Newell and David Yates. The inevitable producer David Heyman will keep them company.

The spearheads of the event, however, remain the actors, starting with Harry Potter himself, namely Daniel Radcliffe, accompanied by best friends played by Emma Watson (Hermione) and Rupert Grint (Ron). With them to tell their curiosity and background the colleagues of all time Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix), Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid), Ralph Fiennes (Lord Voldemort), Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy), Gary Oldman (Sirius), Imelda Staunton (professor Dolores Umbridge), Tom Felton (Draco), James Phelps and Oliver Phelps (twins Fred and George), Mark Williams (Arthur Weasley), Bonnie Wright (Ginny), Alfred Enoch (Dean), Matthew Lewis (Neville), Evanna Lynch ( Luna) and Ian Hart (Professor Raptor).

Here’s what happens in the first official trailer: the opening shots are on the faces of the three protagonists in the Gryffindor common room at Hogwarts smiling at each other. And then the adventure begins in the avenue of memories, also in the London studios, where platform 9 and ¾ of King’s Cross has been reconstructed: the metaphorical journey on the Hogwarts Express brings back, as seen in the next scene, Emma Watson in a ethereal white dress, in the Great Hall of the school of witchcraft and wizardry. She says that time does not seem to have passed at all: in fact, here she is running and hugging her friend Tom Felton (for whom she had a crush on as a child, during the first two films).

While the dancers seem to recreate the famous Ballo del Ceppo, at the champagne tables in the Great Hall you can immediately see the Weasley family laughing, while Matthew Lewis (Neville), in the middle of the room, looks a little embarrassed and excited. The orchestra plays as the image moves to the sofa where an unusual duo chuckles, accomplice: Helena Bonham Carter must have made a joke to Gary Oldman, but certainly not one of those digs that Bellatrix would have addressed to Sirius.

In Gringotts’ safe deposit box, the actress takes out a sort of denture from her pocket and puts it on: it is the prosthesis used in the scene in which Hermione, with the polyjuice potion, pretends to be Bellatrix.

Memories follow one another, like that of Ralph Fiennes, Lord Voldemort himself, while behind the scenes images pass by on the screen. Meanwhile, the trio embraces, accomplice, saying that yes, Harry Potter is still home and family.

But this is only the beginning …
