Yesterday, February 15, the Auto Review news outlet, citing its sources, reported that official sales of updated versions of the Haval F7 and F7x crossovers will start on the Russian market. It is worth noting that the manufacturer decided to update these cars less than three years after the full release, and, most surprisingly, the Russian market will receive the first batches of restyled crossovers earlier than potential buyers in the local market in China. However, the current update cannot be called a cardinal upgrade – the manufacturer has slightly changed the body and interior, as well as the available equipment, while there are no technical changes.
For example, the updated versions of the Haval F7 and F7x can be distinguished from the original vehicles thanks to new bumpers (both front and rear), fog lights and stylish grilles that have received a new pattern and become wider. Accordingly, thanks to the new body elements, the total length of the car has increased by 71 millimeters, plus red has been added to the palette of available colors. This is where the external differences, in fact, end, but there are several interesting innovations inside the vehicle – the manufacturer changed the front panel for the sake of a new media system with a 12.3-inch touch screen (previously it was 9 inches).

This system supports Apple CarPlay, and from April of this year it will also work with Android Auto. Unfortunately, car enthusiasts will not be able to get a system update over the air – those users who buy a Haval F7 or F7x before the launch of Android Auto support will have to go to an authorized dealer to receive the appropriate update. Even in the cabin, minor decorative innovations appeared, such as overlays and ventilation deflectors, and the manufacturer expanded the range of color palettes for interior trim. But the skin has not yet been added – there are interiors made of fabric or leatherette (or a combination thereof), while there are no natural materials yet.

But there are no changes in the engine compartment – a potential owner can get a 1.5-liter gasoline turbo engine with a capacity of 150 horsepower or a 2.0-liter with 190 horsepower. Motors work in tandem with a preselective “robot” – there are no alternatives here either.
The Chinese brand Haval said that the production of updated crossovers has been carried out at the Tula plant since January, so the new cars have already gone to dealer networks. For the Haval F7 in the basic Comfort configuration, they ask for 1,899,000 rubles, and the Haval F7x starts at 1,969,000 rubles.
