Haval and Chery took 10th and 11th places in the Russian car market, ahead of Mazda, Mitsubishi, Ford, Lexus, Audi, Suzuki, Volvo, Peugeot, Land Rover, Subaru, Volkswagen, Citroen and many other companies.
Russian Haval dealers sold 39,126 vehicles in 2021, increasing sales by 125%. This is an absolute record for the entire time of Haval’s presence in our country. This result allowed Haval to overtake Chery and become the most successful Chinese manufacturer in our car market, despite the fact that the first two positions in the top ten most popular cars were occupied by Chery crossovers.
The success of Haval, in particular, was ensured by the increase in production in the Tula region (since September, the Haval plant has been operating in two shifts) and the stable development of the dealer network. As a result, Haval becomes the leader in terms of sales among Chinese automakers in Russia for the third year in a row.
Haval F7 became the brand’s bestseller in Russia with the result of 12386 cars sold (+83%). In second place is the coupe-crossover Haval F7x, sales of which increased by 2.3 times and amounted to 10,336 vehicles. The new compact crossover Haval Jolion closes the top three, which went on sale in May and found 9877 owners by the end of the year.
Chery, which took second place overall, had the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro and Chery Tiggo 4 as the top models. Sales of these vehicles amounted to 14,112 and 14,034 vehicles, respectively. In just a year, the company sold 37,118 vehicles, up 224% from a year earlier.
The third place was taken by Geely, which sold 24,587 (+59%). The best was Geely Coolray, sales of which amounted to 11,101 vehicles.
