It exploded volcano Kilauea in Hawaii late Wednesday night (29/9), as announced by the US Geological Survey (USGS), while local media report that the explosion does not pose an immediate danger to residents.
“What used to be a cold lava lake is now erupting,” said the USGS volcanic service.

The alert level for Kilauea has risen from “Monitoring” to “Warning” and the aviation color code from “Orange” to “Red” as this new explosion and potential risks are assessed, the USGS said in a statement. ΑΠΕ-ΜΠΕ.
The increased alert level and color code means that a dangerous explosion “is imminent, expected or probable”, according to the USGS website.
The explosion did not occur in an area with houses and it is fully confined within the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, according to the Hawaii News Now television channel, citing officials.
