As expected, Ricoh Imaging has unveiled the HD Pentax-D FA 21mmF2.4ED Limited DC WR lens, preliminary information on which appeared the day before.
According to the manufacturer, this is the first D FA lens to cover a full frame of a DSLR and is designed to “optimize the visual quality” of digital images.

The manufacturer notes the presence of four ED elements and three Super ED elements in the optical design of the lens, which helped to reduce chromatic distortion. In addition, by using a large-diameter concave meniscus lens, a biconvex aspherical molded glass lens and a high refractive index glass element in the first group of elements, it was possible to reduce the size of the lens and obtain a sharp image throughout the frame. A multi-layer coating completes the picture, reducing the risk of glare and other artifacts in difficult lighting conditions.
