He gave a fake diamond ring to his girlfriend and accidentally got revenge when she tried to sell it

Karma exists and sooner or later collects what is owed. Proof of this is the story of a man whose girlfriend claimed to love him in wealth and poverty, but who upon receiving his engagement ring, expected a simple diamond as proof of love.

The funny thing about this story is that the girl did get her ring, but it was never a diamond as she asked for, but something simpler and when she did not realize it, she had the nerve to try to sell it without any success. This story looks like something out of a movie but it is real and was shared by Reddit user Petty Revenge.

This is not a story about me, but about my cousin. Let’s call him Dave. So Dave, a 34-year-old man, was in a relationship with a Karen for a long time (about four years) and, earlier this year, he proposed to her. But Karen was a gold digger and a very arrogant person.

She talked a lot about how she wanted a “traditional” diamond ring. He wanted Dave to follow the “tradition” of giving him a ring worth the equivalent of three salaries. But Dave is not a very wealthy person, although he does have a steady job in a factory, which here would be considered to be upper class. Three of their wages together are equal to between $ 3,000 to $ 6,000, depending on overtime.

It goes without saying, but Dave did not want to spend that amount on a ring, due to the global situation and the fact that he could be fired at any time (he had been looking for a ring since the beginning of the year and luckily he was not fired. ). So Dave looked for an alternative and found the white sapphires.

Dave was able to buy a stone the size Karen wanted, with a luxurious setting and a gold band, a piece that cost half as much as a diamond would have cost. He proposed to her and told her that the ring was made of diamonds and that he had saved money for a year.

Once they started planning the wedding, things didn’t go well. It all ended one day when she and Dave fought over the guest list. The “dream place” she chose was small and did not fit 300 guests, but she managed. He sent the invitations without Dave’s consent and only invited his side of the family. No one from Dave’s side received an invitation. He canceled the wedding and kicked her out of the apartment. Karen kept the ring, something Dave didn’t care for.

Months later, Dave heard from Karen, who tried to pawn the ring at a store in town. She was convinced that she would get thousands of dollars for the jewel, but the owner of the place only offered her a few hundred because it was not a diamond, but a white sapphire. She called Dave very upset demanding that he pay her what the ring was worth and threatened to sue him if he didn’t. Dave just hung up the call and got on with his life.
