He got lost in the forest and did not answer the rescuers because he did not know the number

Surely you have received annoying calls from unknown numbers that end up being salespeople who refuse to stop dialing until you hire the service they offer you, political propaganda or simply junk calls. For this reason, many people choose not to answer calls from numbers that they do not have registered.

This is a good measure, but you have to know when to put it aside, because many times, our salvation depends on this, as in the case that we will talk to you next.

Lost in the mountains

A few days ago, a man got lost on Mount Elbert, located in Colorado, United States, which is the highest peak in the Rocky Mountains of North America. This man went out into the mountains on October 18 and was missing for 24 hours, so the local authorities were alerted and the Search and Rescue services tried to contact him on multiple occasions.

However, the subject repeatedly ignored these calls because they were from an unknown number. What happened was this: The man deviated from the designated path and spent the night looking for him. In the morning he found him, was able to complete his journey and returned to his car. Apparently, he had no idea there was a team looking for him.

What do the authorities think?

Fortunately, this may remain a curious anecdote, but the team that took over the search for this person released the following statement on Facebook after sharing the story of the rescue.

If you exceed the time that you marked in your itinerary and you start receiving multiple calls from an unknown number, please answer the phone; It may be a Search and Rescue team trying to verify that you are safe.
