He got lost on a hike and did not respond to rescue teams… because he did not recognize the number

Lucky can be considered a man who got lost for about a day on his mountain Colorado Elbert and was found safe and sound even though he somewhat bothered the rescuers. The man who went missing for 24 hours while doing so hiking on the highest mountain in Colorado ignored repeated phone calls from rescue teams because they came from an unknown number.

The hiker was reported missing around 8pm on Oct. 18 after failing to return to where he was staying, Lake County Search and Rescue Services said.

Repeated attempts to communicate with the man through calls, text messages and voicemails were ignored, according to a statement released by the group and cited by the Guardian.

Rescuers were looking for him but he returned to his car

Five members of the rescue team were deployed around 22:00 to search for “high probability areas” on Mount Elbert, but returned around 3 in the morning after failing to locate the missing hiker at the 4401-meter (14,440-foot) peak.

A second team set off at 7am the next morning to look for areas where hikers “usually miss the trail” and found that the man had returned to his residence around 9:30 a.m.

The hiker said at the beginning that he had lost his way at night and “went to different paths trying to find the right one” before finally reaching his car the next morning, about 24 hours after the start of the hike.

Lake County Search and Rescue Team said the man “had no idea” anyone was looking for him. «It is noteworthy that the person ignored repeated phone calls from us because he did not recognize the number“, The team added.

“If you are late according to your schedule and start receiving repeated calls from an unknown number, answer the phone. it could be a search and rescue team trying to confirm that you are safe! “
