He publicly spoke out against the war in Ukraine and was fired, after 48 years, from the Russian Institute of Theater Arts

The management of the Russian Institute of Theater Arts (GITIS) decided not to extend the employment contract with the dean of the theater school Natalya Pivovarova, which stood against him war in Ukraine.

The decision of the administration was announced by her post on Facebook. “So that’s where my odyssey at GITIS ended. It lasted 48 years. But everything comes to an end. War. How else; I don’t work there anymore. It’s understandable. Today I was offered my resignation, I refused and then they explained to me that they are simply not renewing my contract, although they also sent me my program” writes Pivovarova in her post.

On her Facebook page she periodically publishes anti-war posts such as? reports the Athens News Agency.

In June, the historian Tatiana Tairova-Yakovlev was fired from the University of St. Petersburg, following allegations made against her for her anti-war appeal.
