A man from Florida raped an 18-year-old tourist pretending to be the taxi driver she had called from her cell phone.
Shapsly Silencieux, 37, ran the 18-year-old from Alabama, who was visiting friends in Fort Lauderdale when the group broke up on Saturday night after they left.
According to the report of the local WPLG station, the girl had called cab from the Uber app and got into it without thinking about the car that stopped in front of her.
“He goes to the vehicle and asks the driver ” are you my Uber? ”. “He says ‘yes,'” said DeAnna Greenlaw, a local police officer.
The girl asked him again if he was her driver. He said yes, but they had to stop at his house to get money for petrol. He drove her to his apartment and raped her.
The 18-year-old remembered his license plates and called the police when he finally left her at her destination.
Silencieux was also arrested Uber confirmed that he was her driver, but the application was not used in this particular race.
