In a press conference called, after being removed from the Civil Police, Fabio Pinheiro Lopes delegate and director of the State Department of Criminal Investigations (Deic) said that Vinícius Gritzbach, PCC whistleblower, was deceived by the lawyer Ramses Benjamin Samuel Costa Gonçalves.
THE Governor of the State of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas, decided to remove, this Friday (20), two Civil Police delegates mentioned in Vinícius Gritzbach’s accusation about involvement between police officers and the leadership of the criminal faction Primeiro Comando da Capital, the PCC.
During the press conference, Fabio Pinheiro, states that the accusations that the lawyers had met with him, at the DEIC headquarters in São Paulo, are fallacious, since at no time did he receive Ramsés, and that at no time did he present a power of attorney in the name by Vinícius Gritzbach.
Fábio also announced that both he and deputy Delegado Olim (PP) will sue lawyer Ramsés Benjamin Samuel Costa Gonçalves for slander.
Police officers arrested
The removal of the two delegates comes in the same week that the Federal Police carried out an operation that arrested seven people, including police officers and civilians.
Police chief Fábio Baena is among those arrested in “Operation Tacitus”, launched on Tuesday (17) by federal police in conjunction with Gaeco. Three other civil police officers were also detained.
Fábio Baena was reported by businessman Vinicius Gritzbach, executed in the arrivals area of Guarulhos Airport on November 8th. The police officers were arrested because they had been reported by Gritzbach.
With the accusation, the police intensified the investigation against them after the death of the PCC businessman and managed to gather evidence indicating that they had committed crimes.
There is still no proof of the police’s connection with Vinicius’ execution, but there is a suspicion being investigated. In addition to the arrests, the objective of today’s operation is to collect evidence that will assist in the investigation into the possible involvement of police officers in the businessman’s death.
