In his intervention in the Parliament of Rome, the Italian Minister of the Interior, Matteo Piandendozzi, referred a while ago to the non-validation of the arrest and the immediate expulsion from Italy of the head of the Libyan judicial police, Nizem Ozama Elmasri Habis. “Following the non-validation of his arrest by the Court of Appeal in Rome, taking into account that this Libyan citizen was now free and presented a profile of social danger, as shown by the arrest warrant of the International Criminal Court dated January 18, I adopted a measure of deportation for reasons of national security, as provided by law,” the Italian minister said. Piandedosi, at the same time, underlined that “the relevant measure was communicated to the person concerned upon his release from prison and – on the evening of January 21st – he left Italy”.
