A 27 -year -old detainee, identified as Vinícius da Silva Madeira, fled the Passos Prison in Minas Gerais, taking advantage of the time to remove the garbage from the prison unit. The escape occurred on the night of Thursday (3).
According to the Secretariat and State of Justice and Public Security (Sejusp), Vinícius was authorized to carry out internal work in prison. When performing the removal of the garbage, he got access to the street and was no longer seen.
The detainee had been at the unit since December 13, 2024. In addition, it has been passing through the prison system since 2017.
Sejusp reported that the prison’s management has established an internal procedure to investigate the circumstances of the escape and possible responsibilities. The agency also released images of Vinicius to assist in the fugitive search.
Police asks anyone who has information trigger the complaint dial by phone 181. The call is anonymous and free.
