After 51 days of being held hostage in Gaza, the Brodage children they were released and reunited with their families. But there was also a special member of the family whose embrace they eagerly awaited.
The children were reunited with their family dog, Rodney, after more than a month and a half apart.
Smiles lit up the faces of Oria, Yuval and Ofri as they hugged and kissed their beloved pet.
Rodney was also excited, wagging his tail.
Father Avihai Brodetz was trying to defend the Kfar Aza kibbutz when his wife, their three children, and their neighbors’ daughter, Abigail, who had taken refuge in their home, were kidnapped. For some time he had no information about their fate, but after a few days he learned that they were all alive.
Ofri, the eldest of the children, completed her ten years in captivity. Her two younger brothers, Yuval and Oria, are 8 and 4 years old.
